Social Artistry !
“Social
Artistry is a transformative approach to building
leadership capacity that can effectively cultivate the kind of
leaders necessary to facilitate change. It is training
that allows us to prepare ourselves to become stewards of the planet
filled with enough passion for the possible to
partner one another through the needed social transformation
that is occurring in nations and communities all over the world.”
The Social Artist’s Fieldbook, Jean Houston PhD

I have been inspired by Jean’s work for a long time and I am very pleased to include a chapter by her – “What Do You Want to Do to Make a Difference in This Time?” In GOOD QUESTION! The Art of Asking Questions to Bring About Positive Change.

My work as a Social Artist includes catalysing positive change through writing, coaching people to bring about positive change on a small or large scale, networking, running business seminars and introducing arts activities and active learning into personal/social development seminars and workshops.
I studied the Social Artistry Leadership Intensive with Jean Houston on Fraser Island, Queensland Australia in summer 2005 and as a result formed a partnership with Mia Handshin of ‘Mana of Speaking’, for leading programmes for young people around the world. We have plans to lead Leadership Intensives founded in Social Artistry for young people in the Philippines, organised through the United Nations Development Programme/UN Habitat. I am in discussion about similar programmes elsewhere in the world including the UK and in Uganda.
